IKEA has released a free iPhone catalogue app that lets you browse the latest catalogue on your phone. -zoom in on pictures and flip through the pages. just like the paper catalog.. but now with you all the time. Made by the cake group.

Someone once told me that young people don’t get sick..-mostly because young people wont run down the doors at the doctors office because 1) you have to wait forever if you dont want to pay through the nose. 2) your not sick until the doctor says you are (your just hurting a little, which is far less stigmatized.)

Helping people towards good health is not prioritized and its drowning in “curing the sick”.

It has long time been my opinion that everything I want or need to use should be available -not at all time, but when I want it. People have asked me why I’m designing an app as one of the main touchpoints for the health service. I cant think of a more important platform than the object you always carry with you, and that you if you forget it, return home to pick up. Its probably the most personal object you own, and making it a diary, just didn’t feel like a particulary big leap.

Extremely quick notes on social “objects”

Uniforms / tribe outfit / fashion / cultural beliefs, or more permanent marks such as tattoos/ visual clues of identity or belonging. Identity and something to engage in conversation over..

Signs / Similar reactions / stating a common ground for what defines you as something not to different from an other person.

All in all types of social clues to bring forth a feeling of connection to a bigger whole or a unity. (or understanding.)

I’ve been reading David Eberhard’s book “i trygghets narkomanerans land” in the land of the safety addicts. About Sweedens national panic syndrome.

For my own sake: the doctor I spoke to yesterday was curious of why my application is also tracking happiness, as that would have absolutely no use in the case of having to pinpoint what to do about an impact of a bad lifestyle. …And this poster pretty much says it all, as giving people the perspective of something brighter takes away a destructive pattern of looking at a situation.

Lovely, healthy propaganda.
